HEAVY FOUNDARY AND FORGING PLANT

The implementation of the specialty steel melting shop for Esfarayen Steel Complex has been assigned in September of 1999 to IRITEC and the contract was ratified in June of 2000.
IRITEC as the major contractor is collaborating with Austrian INTECO and also committed to accomplish basic & detailed engineering in some part of the project , responsible for all local supplies , infra structure , installations , and participation in commissioning.
INTECO is responsible for overall engineering of the project , supplying of the foreign manufactured process equipment , supervision of installation and commissioning , and as well as transfer of technology.
The production program includes producing carbon and alloy steels, cold and hot working of tool steels.
The main equipment of the melt shop comprises one 50 ton ultra high power electric arc furnace with carbon/oxygen injection facilities , one 50 ton ladle furnace , two 50 tons VD/VOD station for degassing.
Total weight of steel structures and the main equipment is respectively 5000 and 7000 tons , and out of which 5000 tons is locally manufactured , and more than 36000 cubic meters of concrete has been consumed.
