The aim of installation of engineering polymers plant in petrochemical special economic zone in Bandar Imam is to product strategic products of polycarbonate and epoxy resins of  various grades.

The capacity of the plant is 25,000 tpy of polycarbonate and 10,000 tpy epoxy resins, and will be mostly exported.

Due to proven properties of polycarbonate such as transparency, colour stability, pressure and temperature resistance, moldibility and so on, it is a good substitute for glass . Polycarbonate has an application in a wide range of downstream industries such as eye lens, computer, building, aerospace, electronic industries and more. 
Thanks to existing of epichlorohyri in epoxy resins compound, it adds three dimensional properties in epoxy resin products and therefore it will be applied in paint and coating industries in a vast range.
